Traffic Congestion

The powers that be, have changed the timings of all traffic lights throughout the city, to prevent people waiting to cross from gathering too long, this is causing cars to be stuck in traffic longer.

Anyone who saw video footage of the traffic madness in the Phoenix Park over the weekend will  agree.
Admittedly the parks side gates are closed, but there's no doubt the traffic lights staying on red longer  at Parkgate St and Castleknock made a huge difference.

That has always gone on its traffic reduction by Frustration .Why do you think they have separate lights on some of the Bus Lanes ?

I've been watching the live camera on O'Connell St on and off over the past few days and it's the same there.  Heading north by car, you pretty much get stopped at Pennys and again at the Spire.  Those who know this actually speed up to get through the lights at the Spire!
