Freenow safety pledge.
« on: June 15, 2020, 05:47:29 pm »
I logged into me app earlier and some stuff popped up about a safety pledge.Basically saying do you agree to wash your hands, wear a mask, clean the car regularly and have no more than two passengers in the rear of your taxi. Please sign here....digitally.

I backed out of it and it disappeared off the app.Are they saying if you don't do this you're off the app?Seems like a major change that might not suit everyone.

just saw that, surely 3 from the same household should be allowed in the back?

Still if suddenly we're all 2 passenger vehicles there'll be a lot more 2 car jobs.
as Freelancers we'll be able to squeeze an extra body in ... another edge over FN for booking a driver direct

They decide what conditions apply regarding the jobs they provide. if you wish to accept those jobs you must abide by their rules, this particular rule plays into the hands of independent drivers (and other dispatchers who aren't as particular)  as passengers will bypass the FN app if there are more than 2 of them

Certainly if there's more than 2 of them, double the price!

They only decide on the terms and conditions of the jobs ,because you the drivers let them.like I always said, its YOUR industry, you can operate without them, but they cant operate without you

No, they decide on the terms and conditions because they can, if drivers want the work they abide by the conditions, we cannot operate without passengers, many passengers choose to use FN, I know you want them all out on the street in the rain waiting for you to pass by, but that's not what they want, they want to wait in their homes and for us to come and get them.
Dispatchers are an essential ingredient for our business to operate.

Im afraid we will NEVER agree on that only. When I say youcan operate without them, but they can't operate without you, surely you can see that drivers have the upper hand .do you seriously think regular taxi drivers would stop using taxis just because apps ceased to exist ? Not a chance in fact by telling dispatchers to go fukk themselves, not only would you be taking back control of your industry from dispatchers , but you would also have a clientele who would be very glad  to come out to the street and stick out their hands ,just like they are on a busy Froday and Saturday night.I know your going to give the example of the fella who lives in a remote part and has to walk a bit to get a taxi.I would say people in that situation account for about 1% of business.people have become spoiled over the years, and we have helped them to be

The way you talk, we should be no different than a bus, just less frequent and with no timetable.
They're not spoiled, you wanting them to stand out in all sorts of weather hoping a taxi will drive by eventually  is both ludicrous and fanciful, they stand out when they know there are plenty of taxis available (city centre) outside of that they use dispatchers

Only do you not accept that there are more fukin taxis in dublin then tou can count at times.thhere are so many, that the chances of someone waiting for more then 5 mins for a taxi is remote.in the other hand I have had many people waive me down and tell me the F,N driver was on his way,but suddenly cancelled.how reliable of a ser ice is that by your beloved dispatchers.no you can not beat getting a taxi in real time.when a dispatched taxi says ill be there at 7 ,you have to ask which day

So you want more reliable Dispatchers?

What do you do when you're going to the Airport?
What do you do when it's pissing rain and freezing?
What do do when you want rid of visitors?

Stand in your garden and pray?

@ Dalymount, this is the third second time I asked you this over the past few months but I guess you keep missing it.

How does someone living down the back of Collinswood get a taxi without using a cap company or app?  That estate is huge and, afaik, there's only one way in and out.  Same with Beaumont Woods (beside the hospital).  I reckon it's a good 10 minute walk from the back of either estate to the main road.

I've used those estates as examples because I get the feeling you live up that way.
