Just because taxis are listed as essential services doesn't mean that drivers should be putting themselves in harms way of the dizeeezzee.

 Expendable worker ...as a taxi driver yu are expendable...not essential...you are self employed and someone has to drive nurses to hospitals otherwise the guards and army have to do it at great expense to the government tax payer but if yu do it for 50% percent of the fare it's a winner for everyone especially freenow marketing department be having dougnuts with sprinkles an chocalate filling for months to whoever's came up with that little gem of gettin the dopey cnuts to work for nuttin an puttin ther lives at risk cause it makes them feel like a hero and important for the first time in ther miserable worm like existence an if theif you snuff it on the job fron the chinesecvirus you are one less mouth to feed and one less 350 a week  free money liability if yu work and you wont require compensation to yur family cause yu self employed . You will be another owl cnut not requiring the state pension which could of cost the tax payer hundreds of thousands....and medical card recipients that costs time an money to an over burdened health care system that cant cope with owl fuks on ther last legs wit piles and gout and heart diseases diabetes flatulence an smelly pissy drippin pants ...you gaff will become available to an immigrant aswell so leo wont have to deal wit racist cnuts in the west of ireland givin out about derelict hotels ful of afrikans an pakis complaining that they gettin the virus cause they all sharing the one Jack's and kitchen ...an you be one less to worry about in a mobile dole job that already is over supplied

Ken I posted here a few weeks ago .The industry will be down by 30% at least and I agree with you as most of that work will be street hails from restaurant and pub users but the 30% of trade might be =to 70% of street work .After this fever I would suggest at least 20% od drivers wont return especially renters and part timers as the weekend trade wont recover till next year The apps will be sold as traceable safer and contactless by both the NTA and the App providers .You are correct Ken the Game has changed .

About 10% of my weekly taking is Private work or Street/Rank.

Maybe and only Maybe when the pubs re open in a months time there might be some street work available.

Naa ...cork is different ken ..here from Thursday to sunday morning all the blokes come in from offally,  wickla, wexford, longford, meath , kildare, Waterford,  yu fukin name it to work Dublin an sleep in ther cars .....the place is flooded here ....probably 5 pakis to a one bed flat sharing 2 taxis between them an only too delighted to work 12 hour days to get away from the fuking kip they live in an the smell of curry an rentin in some fuking dump in bunk beds in a shed out the back of some owlones garden in dorset st  ....I on the other hand value my time off cause I have a life living in a quaint country type village painting  my impressionistic landscapes and having it off with owlones tryin to have it off wit me every nite an weekends    except on wednesdays that me get fukin fluttered me time nite for meself watching a western an eatin popcorn an peanuts an chocalate bars

Thats why I'm like a bear at the moment ken,  im hibernating till all this is over or the 350 runs out, whichever comes first.  At the minute you're like a vulture, circling around dead rotting corpses, swooping in for a mouthful of rotten, smelly, dirty flesh. I'm like an Eagle, soaring on the wind, looking down at the greedy, scraggly vultures flying around, scavenging beneath me.

So as to be correct on this, I'm the 'Vulture scavenging' while I'm classified as an Essential worker providing an essential service and paying tax on my hard working takings.
While you Horse are the 'Bear or Eagle' looking down upon me and sitting on your ass while well able to work scrounging off the Irish state ?

It also says "hotels" in that list. I don't know of one hotel that stayed open since this started, so that must mean that their employees were in the same boat as us. That probably amounts to way more than the total number of taxi drivers in the country. So tens of thousands of "essential workers" didn't work when they were expected to, right? I'm rockin on till August 10th.
