I don't know much about the dubliners at all but why does kelly seem to be put on a pedestal so much over the other lads.
he has two statues and a bridge named after him in Dublin and the other lads have feck all as far as I know.

Why is Kelly put on a pedestal over the others  ? I love the pun doc,but to answer your question Luke was without doubt the greatest Irish ballad singer ,and this is widely accepted  by all of us who were involved in the business.I remember tommy byrne of the wolfe tones one night out in the embankment .he said to me Luke was head and shoulders above the rest.funny enoughthe tones were always seen as outcast among the ballad groups,but Derek Warfield was a bit of a bollox so I can understand why
