I got downgraded to 203 ,bought a new car in 2018 so 40% right down left me in a reclaim situation with Revenue- but I returned them far more than 11k--I did reregister to stay on payment--reports say 100k knocked down to 203--Boyd Barrett was on Newstalk saying he was inundated with constituents complaining --taxi drivers in the main !

Well chased up the Dept today and as ever things are not as simple as they made out re previous earnings in 2018 !

Me being the smart ass that I try to be have made my 2019 return as I knew I owed them nothing as I did very little work last year due to illness and my net was under 10k hence I got  down graded !

Good guy I spoke to said the payment was likely to regularized in August ,ie if you want to stay on a payment you WILL have to apply for Jobseekers and go tru the hoops--he added that there was wide spread abuse of the payment criteria especially by the GIG economy ,which he feels will be followed up before!

I have never suggested that. On the contrary I have thanked drivers - both on a personal and on a general level - who provide a service while you and your ilk slag them off.

However, I have commented on what the new normal might look like. Govt can't ignore drivers like you slagging off your colleagues while spreading the virus around bars, supermarkets, pharmacies, beaches, etc... nor can it ignore trade bosses like Vinny Kearns who agrees with you and is far better placed to / at vocalising the same.
