You were right, TOO. I called - answered after 21 mins, thanks to Watty keeping the riff riff at bay - and we got into a bit of a muddle with other "teams" and such like mentioned in concluding that my latest extension to the suspension hasn't been processed yet. Notwithstanding that the lady asked if I wanted new stickers and I told her the old ones are still on it but the plate wasn't coming up on their database/app, probably because it was suspended. Presumably wondering why I gave a fuck about that she suggested creating a driver link so she done that and while she was getting me a reference number for the call I checked the online register and the plate was active. Then, to add to the confusion I asked her to break the link so Welfare won't be looking for my profit/loss to continue PUP. Understandably confused at this stage - why some muppet would want to restore his plate and not go back to work and waste NTAs time/resources in so doing - obviously a bit of a conundrum.

Anywaysanall, it all seems to be in order now... plate back active without any NCT / suitability / sticker application / etc.

BTW, I didn't check the database before calling so I was confusing myself as much as her... my concluding that it wasn't on the database was based on the last time I checked which was within the confirmed suspension period - so maybe they just revert to active when the max 3 month suspension is reached.

Hence I'd suggest that anyone else in a similar floating vessel look before they leap. If it's active on the online register (https://onlineregister.nationaltransport.ie/HomeVehicle.aspx) and you never got round to removing the stickers you're sorted, apparently!

Ah Ok RC I'll have to wait until September to test it out.My vehicle isn't coming up at all on their database.To be clear it's suspended until then.

I'm under the 6 monthly rule so don't expect any mercy from them.

Yes me too and maybe after the Covid money ends for another month longer.Do ya know the way you need a holiday after a holiday just to unwind..

I'm hoping there's a lockdown in Jan/Feb so maybe they'll give me another year out of me banger.I've had it plated up so long the stickers are coming off at the corners.

That's a terrible thing to hope for... but I'd say a lot of gaffs will be due another coat of paint by 2024 or 2025, if they could pencil one in for then.
