To be fair, you don't really get crowds in taxis. Given that the trade itself (both drivers and company bosses) has expressed reservations about it's suitablity to "the new normal" it's incumbent on Govt/NTA to eliminate reliance on the trade as far as possible. In doing so I guess it makes sense to promote and incentivise safer, healthier, environmentally friendlier alternatives such as car pooling, electric scooters, (electric) rickshaws and (electric) bicycles. I haven't been up above in Dublin myself recently but I have read reports from drivers (MfH springs to mind) that indicate that is the way things are progressing. Apparently, they're making it increasingly difficult for taxis to operate as priority is given to bicycles, pedestrians and such like.
