Stop ringing the NTA and stop ringing AXA
« on: July 16, 2020, 08:21:41 pm »
I rang AXA last tuesday looking for a quote, the guy said he couldn't get anyone from the taxi section to talk to me but would get someone to ring me back, two days later i emailed them about this to see if i could get a quote. then i rang them monday, was put on hold and no one ever came back on the line. was talking to them today, no one from the taxi side could talk to me, we will ring you back. obviously they didn't either.

They must have loads of money.

I got my renewal today and it's a few hundred cheaper than last year from AXA without asking for a discount.I'd be delighted if I wasn't on the scratcher.

I was with them when I started, the first 2 years, then Liberty were about 1,700 cheaper the 3rd year so I left AXA.

I wonder why they don't seem interested in my business. I couldn't get through to Allianz either. my renewal is about 350 cheaper than last year anyway so im not too bothered.

NCB lapses after 2 years, if the dossers keep the private insurance for that long will they lose their Taxi no claims discount?

I'm lapsing the whole policy in two weeks.800+ for private cover is more than the car is worth.Barely use it anyway.

We can always plate it up temporarily to keep any NCB active but two years is a very long time to be idle.

€800 sounds like boy racer stuff . my wife pays €250 on a 201 Scala, Son pays €400 on a 171 Citygo

Yeah Roy it's a bit odd.AFAIK your private NCB doesn't count towards your PSV and vice versa.

I actually put my details into comparison sites for private cover and it came back with daft numbers up to 2k.Liberty wanted €1355.Possibly due to the age of the car.

My latest PSV quote from AXA is about €1460 for TPFT.

I'm on the wife's policy.I probably only need a car once a month. There's one of them Gocar stations near my gaff if there's something urgent.

NTA was grand last week. Call answered in 21 minutes, problem solved shortly thereafter. Why is everybody in such a hurry?
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.
