NTA SPSV Service Industry Update
« on: July 31, 2020, 05:44:27 pm »
Presume everyone got their e mail from the NTA.

One section reads as follows.

"During this period the NTA will continue to support and assist all licensed SPSV operators."
 lol lol lol

" it is understood that licensed SPSV operators are experiencing many difficulties during this period. NTA will act with due consideration to these difficulties, and where issues arise with licensed operators, compliance officers will seek to offer advice and assistance wherever possible so that the usual high standards of service are maintained"

** The NTA are really on the ball - the virus happened 4.5 months ago
** No fare increase
** 29th June - 'Masks will become compulsory.  We will update you.'  Today (5 weeks later) - 'Masks are probably a good idea.'

I emailed them 5 working days ago and still waiting for a reply  oops

I'd say the only reason they're saying that is because LMS have told them they're too busy and to stop fukin annoying them.

Doesn't surprise me, DM. You seem to have fuck all interest in your trade beyond the €35/hour odd that you average.

Late renewal fees have been temporarily
waived by NTA for delays caused DIRECTLY  by
COVID-19. Any person may present the SPSV
for inspection, only the booking call must be
made by the Licence holder.

 DIRECTLY ???

Does you deciding to cancel your licence count as due to Covid 19 or is that just a business decision more related to saving money than Covid .Seems like they are getting ready to mucky the waters .

It wouldn't really matter John. The fees are graduated anyway. It's not €500 for being two days out of date.

Since this lockdown started I've already saved nearly €500 by changing the cover on the taxi.My insurance is cheaper than most on here so others are saving a lot more by allowing the plate to lapse.
