NTA ----PPE ----Surcharge ?
« on: August 05, 2020, 10:13:07 am »
Heard yesterday that the powers that be are considering allowing a surcharge within the industry for the supply of PPE in cars---would it cause more difficulty ?

More Bolloxology .What standard would the masks need to be and would you need to stop working when your supply ran out ?.Would it not be better to serve a 9 euro dinner on the ranks and if you dont have a dinner you cant get a taxi ?That seems to work in Hotels and Pubs .

Still tryin to get my head around why serving a €9 meal will curb the spread of the dizzeeze.....the pub my yungfella goes to arn't turfing their customers out after 105mins,they're trying to keep their regular customers, would it not be best to keep those customers in the one place for a night....like quarantine.

Tried to explain this earlier the big pubs that serve food got in the ear of the Government they want the small local pub out of business the days of lads going to the pub every night is over .All the fuckology about rural pubs being good for mental health and socialising is bollox more people in Rural Ireland go to Bingo than the pub or Mass havent heard Father Malachy Burbridge PP crying that the Bingo isint open .The real reason they want the Pubs closed is if Paddy has 90 notes to spend he will spend it in the Local Porter Shop only keeping Mick and Sheila in a job but if the Pub is closed Paddy will spread his coin in the Local Centra Chipper,Hardware helping tp keep more people in work Freakenomics biggest bang for their buck .

You can't get as pissed with food.I've been struggling to get the pints in after the grub. They're going in but it's hard work.

If you have to buy food you won't move from place to place as you'll need to buy more food in the next one.

It's working reasonably well but they probably know folks will try to get around the rules.

I'm guessing some places won't force you to buy food if yer trusted.

Because it is envisaged that people will leave the premises after their meal and pint after 105 mins.

If they open the "wet pubs" people wont leave after 105 mins , they will stay as you have pointed out above.
Given that the pub your young lad goes to is effectively breaking the law, it shows and proves  that the powers that be, are right in doing what they are doing. In other words, "some" publicans cannot be trusted (allegedly)

Wet Pub 4 barmen  Pub with Grub 4 barmen 3 kitchen staff 2 waitresses = more  staff working as opposed to just 4 in a wet pub .If they let the pubs reopen a lot of kitchen and waiting staff will lose their jobs .Thats the sort of logic that is being applied .

They're just trying to encourage more responsible drinking habits. If there weren't so many pubs with restaurant licences the wet pubs would probably have opened by now.Like I said already anyone who wants a drink can find one right now.

It's not that difficult for a pub to offer food. All they need is access to a kitchen that passes the regulations.

I think of the €9 meal as an admission fee with some grub thrown in.Still better than sitting on the sofa until Christmas.

Where did you get the information from? Taxi rank talk or from the NTA???

Also, what exactly does the PPE consist of? It is just a face covering, or is it a face covering, gloves, goggles, and surgical gowns?

If so, I'd rather dust down me gimp suit and wear that.

I couldn't give a fuk if i never stepped into a boozer again but the younger generation are the ones that will keep those business's going and with the 105mins rule only encourages house parties imo.

Regarding PPE......the NTA will be on top of this,Anne has a plan!!

^^^^^^^It's in Sandymount Justin. There aren't many taxi drivers that can afford to live there. All tech companies and solicitors.Close to the city and the sea where properties costs millions not a few hundred grand.Couple of hundred yards from Ballsbridge.

You'd pay €13/14 everywhere else in the city for a burger.Made by Chefs nothing like what ya get in Macdonalds.Dublin is expensive.

You can be sure one of the usual suspects out in the port got on to the NTA as they are worried that filthy foreigners are coming into town .The NTA will undoubtly help them out .

Dear Driver
Your concern with filthy foreigners comming into town will be addressed .We here at DAA and NTA and the Taxithingey see what you are saying about dirty foreigners so we have decided to ask Free Now or Uber to operate a track and trace system in the port so All bookings from the port will be through the app this way we can track the dirty foreigners that you are so concerned about .The NTA have already issued guidlines to Workers observe SOCIAL DISTANCING and WASH YOUR HANDS .I hope this solution to your concerns will surfice .

Regards .

Brona Ni Coogain .
