This is nearly a Constitutional issue .A government Minister .A EU Comissioner but the Big one a High Court Judge who cannot be removed from office .How can a judge sit in judgement of the Law if he has no respect for the Law .This Government will fall 10/1 a general election this year is a great value bet .

The Judge Pat McCartan retired about 2 years ago.There is a different active Judge called Pat McCarthy which might cause some confusion

His idiot colleagues on the radio all morning making qualified statements about Gallery. " Oh yes, I accept what he did was wrong BUT he is a man of integrity/he did it in good faith/he realises the error of his judgement/blah blah fuckin blah".
Why doesn't one of them just come out and call him a silly bollox and he deserves to be sacked instead of circling the wagons, telling him to lie low for a while, and he'll probably get a good job soon.
It's so ironic that after all the crying he did when he wasn't given a ministerial post at the time of govt formation, and then got it when BIFFO 2.0 was sacked, it took him a couple of short weeks to blow it.
It must be a kick in the teeth for all the folks from the wesht who went all over the various media giving out that there was no minister from to that side of the country. Now they're back to shquare wan.

Its just a kick in the teeth for those who played by the rules at great financial cost to themselves and their families .This unity is falling apart because of incidents like this .These people are there to make and uphold the Law .What would happen if a TD or Senator brought the virus into the Dail ?

ANOTHER HEAD GETS CHOPPED

Fine Gael Senator Jerry Buttimer has resigned as Leas-Cathaoirleach of the Seanad.

Mr Buttimer was among over 80 people who attended an Oireachtas Golf Society event on Wednesday which appeared to breach public health guidelines.

Dara Calleary has also resigned as Minister for Agriculture following his attendance at the event after the Irish Examiner broke the story last night.

Mr Buttimer posted a letter of his resignation from the position on social media this morning.
