Attendees at a controversial Oireachtas Golf Society outing in Galway earlier this week were charged €140 in green fees for two days of golf and a gala dinner. <snip>The invite states that the green fee for two days & Gala Dinner cost is €140. “Dinner on Wednesday night will be served in the Kylemore Suite, Station House Hotel, Clifden at 8.30pm. Presentation of prizes will take place after the dinner,” it states.
Can I go to the pub for a drink?Yes, but if you wish to drink alcohol you must also purchase a ‘substantial meal’ that costs at least €9. This rule applies to each individual customer. If you go to the pub with a group of friends and you all wish to drink alcohol, each member of your group must order a substantial meal. If you do not want to consume an alcoholic drink, you do not need to buy a meal.Furthermore, under current public health guidance:You cannot spend longer than 105 minutes dining in any pub or restaurantTable service must be provided and you cannot sit at the barAll pubs and restaurants must close to the public by 11.30pmA maximum of 6 people from no more than 3 different households are allowed at a tableNo events, parties or gatherings involving more than 6 people indoors or 15 people outdoors are permitted in pub or restaurant settings
