Horrendous footage shows boy battered on ground with bat during vicious armed gang teen brawl in Dublin

The horror three-part video does not make for easy watching so viewer discretion is advised

The horror attack, which took place in broad daylight in Bluebell, shows one teen boy in a mustard jacket lying on the ground while being surrounded by a group of other young teens.

Shouts of "get him" can be heard in the video while as many as five teens gang up on the boy and viciously kick and punch him on the deck before one person delivers a brutal blow with the bat.

A garda squad car can be seen rushing to the scene of the brawl during this incident and splitting up a portion of the group, some of whom flee the scene on bicycles.

That doesn't stop the gang from continuing to carry out the violent attack despite officers just being metres away and only ends when one of the men in a red hoodie shouts "that's my mate" and starts to run after the group.

The video also shows the victim present at the scene of another brutal attack in the area where two teens, a red-hooded attacker and one in a blue jumper, are seen being punched on the ground by a teenager in a blue jumper.

The victim of the first attack is then spotted holding that same teenager on the ground in a third part of the video asking him repeatedly "where's the knife?".

A spokesman for Gardai told Dublin Live: "We were called to a public order incident on the Naas Road, Bluebell on Sunday 16th August at approximately 7pm.

"A male juvenile was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon."

He added: "He has since been released without charge with a file being prepared for the JLO."

Story in the Irish Times after the Chinese lady got thrown into the canal said the JLO scheme works and they're actually thinking of expanding it to 18-25 yr olds!  I nearly choked on my avocado toast when I read the story.

In another Post about Bluebell kids were mugging people on the Canal .I use to live in Bluebell a great spot but lately its a kip a few bogey families have fucked it up .Its a dodgey enough place to work only two ways in or out .

I think it was you Anto said you were thinking of using the Bike Highway from there to here and were advised to avoid the stretch between Bluebell and Lucan same advice being issued for the new multi million Cycle Motorway along the Royal Canal avoid the Cabra stretch .

Dublin mum and daughter find 'lovely boy' hiding in their back garden fearing for life after savage gang beating

A vicious young Dublin gang who beat a teenager forcing him to hide in a stranger's garden cruelly waited outside the random home to attack the boy for a second time.

A Raheny mother told Dublin Live of her and her daughter's surprise to find a "lovely young boy" hiding outside their house after an unprovoked attack at the nearby basketball court.

The family, who wished to remain anonymous out of fear of being targeted by the gang, said that the young man was severely shook when they found him and that they were so thankful they left their side gate open for once otherwise he would have been hounded and battered by the group.

She said: "I just happened to look outside and spotted him hiding. He said that he and his friends had been attacked by youths on bikes at the basketball court opposite St. Anne's Park just after 4pm.

"Apparently the young lad knows these thugs or some of them through school, they are no older than 14 or 15.

"As the young lad and his friends weren't on bikes they legged it trying to get away from them.

"The gang managed to follow him but he found our side gate open and ran in to hide and ask for help.

"We immediately saw him and let him in the back door to the kitchen."

She said the young man was extremely shaken and in shock and had received a nasty black eye among other bruises and cuts during the assault.

She continued: "He was a lovely young lad, so kind and thankful.

"The thing that annoyed me most was the fact that these yobs were waiting for him outside our house.

"So, he was not only attacked by these youths but then they chased him when he lost his friends and had the nerve to wait outside our house, a stranger's house, for him."

The worried mother's natural parenting instincts kicked into action and once told about the gang, she went to the front of the house to confront the bullies.

"I wasn't expecting to see them outside but they were. I told them that we were taking the traumatised young lad up to the gardai and that they were being reported.

"It's extremely worrying on so many levels and it's a growing problem in the area."

The mother's daughter drove the victim to Raheny Garda Station where he met with his dad to give a statement on the matter.

She continued: "He said he was worried about making a formal statement or complaint in case there was any reprisal attacks.

"He was afraid for his life in case they would find him because they were still waiting for him outside our house when we went to take him to the garda station."

The frightened mum said these gangs feel as if they are "invincible" and can get away with anything because of their age.

It always seems to be 'youths on bikes'.  Maybe they should ban bikes or get them redesigned?  They're obviously affecting youths in some mysterious way...

It has been of late. I'd imagine the lack of summer jobs is a factor - if there is a lack of summer jobs?. Maybe it'll subside when they're back to school. Social Media seems to have a role to play, too. As someone said to me over the weekend, we were probably as bad as kids but we didn't find a need to post our every move online.

It must have some impact. All the fruit and veg picking is done by immigrant adults these days, for example... although that's probably more down to new fangled employment laws than COVID '19. There certainly seems to be an upsurge in unruly behaviour since the pandemic... or maybe we just notice it more? Video games must be a significant factor with kids seemingly unable to distinguish between virtual and real worlds... maybe COVID '19 has over-encouraged parenting resulting in parents kicking them out to terrorise the real world where they would normally be on their xStations?

When the local Football team have to post a warning ....Safety notice:
Hi all, due to the attacks and muggings in the Bluebell and Inchicore area in recent months it’s very important to exercise caution especially if you or your children are using the canal as your route to the pitch in Bluebell. There is a large garda presence in the area but impossible for them to stamp it out completely. The club doesn’t want to scare anyone away we just want to make things safer for all especially when it will get dark earlier in the coming month . There was another attack on the canal couple hours ago hopefully nothing too serious. Stay Safe folks.
