Anyone know much about the bus eireann heads looking for buses mini buses and taxis to do school work due to the shortage of capacity? Wonder what's on offer. Not that I'd be interested, you'd want to be kitted out with a n industrial gas mask and all the trimmings when you're ferrying a car load of chislers every morning. You've to be Garda vetted too, so that's half the dub drivers excluded for starters.

Cider was really the knacker's drink in the 70s. It won major prizes in the advertising world for being turned around from a drink associated with undesirables drinking in fields to a gentrified thirst quencher...exactly the same piss.

We're already Garda vetted as part of the SPSV driver licensing process.

Yep. I know hal.
Bus eireann stipulates that you have to be Garda vetted, have a yoke less than 20 years old and be fitted with seat belts. A few years back, half the national fleet would have been disqualified lol. Any idea what they're paying? Fuck all I'd imagine. Straight into the bank too .

I am a Garda vetted bus eireann taxi driver.
In order to be Garda vetted you need to fill out a form stating every address you have ever resided at and every conviction that you have ever been accused of whether found guilty or not in court and also all penalty points, unbelieveably I passed !

I hear the dosh is good, almost 2 per km. A lot of taxi drivers do them in the mornings then work a few hours Mon to Fri till pick-up time and then they are finished fer the day with the week end off.
The important thing is to get your own run from bus eireann and do not go through a third party. Seeing as how badly they are stuck fer drivers there is probably a birra wiggle room fer a haggle on the price of the run.

How do they work out the distance. It's probably some template of all A-B distances all over the country. But templates are black and white.
What about long waits at roadworks or accidents? You could be sitting in traffic for 20 min (inhaling copious amounts of chisler- covid, or a brat chucking his Frosties up on the floor cos be has travel sickness!).

Your office pen pusher may go to "work", but he doesn't have to put up with any of the following shite:
when you're not in the mood for someone that won't shut up talking complete nonsense after you've had a barney with herself just before you left the house, or the last leg of your bet has let you down for 3 or 4 hundred and your head is hopping.

When you get a puncture at 3am in some dark place and you're trying to hold your torch and line the wheel up to the holes at the same time.

Some cnut full to the gills with stout drops the most horrendous fart just as he's getting up off the seat beside you to leave - and says nothing thinking you didn't notice as you start gagging.

You have a booking of your own at a certain time. You have a nice little fare on board that is just the right timing and area to bring you nicely to your booking. You get him there and the pr1ck says oh sorry this is a return run, did your office not say?

€3.73 in Lidl.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Mite be more work for minibus taxis
The coinage is probably shite, God knows how long you'd have to wait for it and some o the more scurrilous out there wouldn't be able to find anywhere to hide a tenner of it cos the man that's handing it out is jotting down on the back of his hand how much he gave ya.
