Do you need a medical every 5 years when renewing your taxi drivers licence?

Professional drivers in for group 2 vehicles (Truck & Bus) do have to complete a medical every five years.
For those categories (C1, C, EC, D1 & D) your licence is only valid for 5 years.
I was at Driver CPC training and the trainer said there was EU regulations coming down the line that would introduce tachographs and medicals for taxis and vans for all professional drivers.

I'd have no problem with doing a medical every 5 years but tachometers wont work and if they required you to do a cpc every year I'll be gone, i won't sit in a class room listening to someone telling me how to enter and exit my car and not to remove me wallet from me arse pocket before i start to drive.

I did, i also said my problem was with these degrading cpc course
