How it works now?
« on: October 05, 2020, 12:31:05 pm »
So back on the road with the Lynk buy to rent deal and trying to figure out the best way to ease back into it.

Any good advice on when to work?

You may be right and if that happens I will cover it with income from agency work but still prefer to drive a taxi over trucks. The agency work is a means to an end.

Thanks for the info. I am not signed up as a Lynk driver, I was thinking of grinding out on FN on the days I am not with the agency.

An old colleague of mine is on Lynk a long time and has Freenow also.He went back to work for a week then gave up again.

Put in 14 hours a day and you'll never be broke.

No money in renting

I agree and if the rent to buy deal hadn't come up I probably would have been out of the game forever. But €125 a week for 20 months is managable.

A lot better than the €350 rental pre Covid and the temporary €250 rental now. Mightn't make sense to owner drivers but it is a step up for renters especially as it is paid for in 20 months.

At that point trade it in for a six year old wheelie or whatever the NTA is doing by then or rent the plate from Lynk for €25 a week until the car is too old in 2027. I like driving a taxi even with all the bullshite. I like the flexibility of it and not dealing with muppet employers. After 6 months out of a taxi it was great to fly up the bus lane in traffic again.
