Well all I put down was,1550 insurance,60 a week fuel, and 100 ppe.you dont submit your receipts, you just have to keep them just in case they ever want to see them.youd have to keep them anyway for doing your tax returns,so its no problem.dont forget any expense you have can go right back to march of this year,so my 60 a week alone more then covers the 1000 expense even without counting my insurance

Put everything down. You've nothing to lose. I put in for a phone, card reader, screen, fuel, PPE,- all if which were genuine purchases I hasten to add.
The covid coin is the gift that keeps on giving, thanks to the doctor who's pockets were good and deep. Not like that tight hole Meehawl.
The doctor was great, so he was.

they're after extending the mandatory wearing of masks in shops as well.
I have'nt been to the shops since you were made strap a rag to your face.
there's a darkie on the door of my local supermarket who won't let anybody in that's not wearing one.
I'm dying for a bottle of lynx africa shower gel.

Some good news for taxi drivers coming in the budget according to rte.ie

There will be also a focus on helping the self-employed, with measures for taxi drivers and others.

You have to be careful what politicans say and what they mean.  A focus on helping us could mean cutting the PUP to help get us out of bed in the morning and back to work!

According to Michael McGraph, it maybe PUP cut pro-rata depending on the number of days worked. If so, its not bad at all.

For taxi drivers, licence renewal fees will be waived along with improvements in the scrappage scheme along with some other measures yet to be finalised.

"Improvements in the scrappage scheme"?

It'll be a load of bollox, that's what it'll be. They were never interested in doing fuck all for us in the past, they're not gonna start now. There'll be a catch to everything they announce. I've suitability on Monday, so fees already paid, so I'll be probably told it'll come off next year's tax bill in some way or another. Big swizz. Anyway, licence fees are chicken feed compared to the help that is required by the industry. And as Hal alluded to, WHAT FUCKING SCRAPPAGE SCHEME? Give us (the legit ones) ten grand in the hand to help get us off our knees then we'll chat. Disingenuous bolloxes the lot of them.

Turnip head Ryan would probably be pushing for that as one "measure". All fine and dandy if you're ready or able or want to change. It doesn't help the day to day lack of business. Repeat the mantra:

We need coin.
When do we need it?
Now!

With the current maximum aggravation traffic initiative i hope they're gonna include installing charging stations at the side of motorways cos it's only a matter of time before there's stranded leccy cars.
