^^^^^^Niteman

40kwh is the smaller battery good for 130/150 miles.
62kwh is the bigger battery good for 220 miles.

KWH  stands for killowat hours of stored electricity.

Smaller one not worth a toss for this game so.
Over 3 years driving very long hours,I average 180 km per day.
Well within the capabilities of the smaller leaf.

Jonno the distances are guesstimates you will not go as far with 4 passengers and suitcases on board or with the heater or radio on plus your average car wont have roofie ,meter ,phone charger and taxi meter running all the time leeching off the battery or dynamo .I would wait and see before jumping in .

One thing to beware of is the batteries have less range on a cold day.Not so much to do with having the heater on or phone plugged in as they run off the 12 volt battery.

But a smaller battery leaf with 180km range when it's 20°C in summer may only have 130/140km in winter at 2°C.There are huge variations so do your research.

This is the same with all batteries. Not just the leaf.

Safest bet would be to go for the bigger battery but that's pricey.

The sign and lights at night and especially heating on drains the battery I hear

There's a thing called a heat pump that apparently is a more efficient way of heating the cabin. Some leafs don't have them.Anything that uses leccy will affect battery life.

But the temperature of the battery pack is a big factor in how many miles you get from a charge. From what have found the battery likes to be warmer rather than freezing for it to work at optimum efficiency.Too hot and they lose efficiency also.

Bottom line is 100% charge won't always get you 150 miles.Might be more, might be less. The car makers advise that you should keep your battery between 20% and 80% charge so it last longer.Fuk that get a diesel.Too much trouble.

Have to agree with TD 42  a Prius is the answer  low maintenance  and put in on LPG  for great fuel economy

Well, presumably the psych ward was locked down before the virus spread and that caused the problem in the first place?

When do you think things will go back to where they were before the pandemic?

id say Christmas next year, that is night clubs open, full crowds at matches, packed pubs etc.
