He seems hugely popular with immigrant workers, Octy... but he musta got something very very wrong, in fact very very very wrong wouldn't be too strong a term. To lose as a sitting President is extremely difficult to do so it seems logical to conclude - without exaggeration - that he has done something very very very very wrong. I think he's only the second or third man to fail to get reelected to the office in the entire history of the US of A. As someone else noted he didn't go to war. While that wouldn't sit well with the Republican base I don't think that alone explains such a humiliating rejection - at the hands of "sleepy" Joe, a fucking corpse on legs - to make it even worserererer. On the plus side he seems very popular with the immigrants who rely on him and his ilk to provide sub-minimum wage jobs. Maybe he can build on that new "base" for 2024?

The wordeld is shrinking, Mfh - metaphorically that is. Global interdependencies necessitate substantial cooperation, for example in policing the internet or combating climate change, across man made borders.

From our own perspective the US had a significant role in negotiating and implementing the Good Friday Agreement. Trump is a huge supporter of the British royal family and would readily shoot his entire family to break bread with HRH Queen Elizabeth II. Biden, on the other hand, supports the Irish republican position. With Brexit on the table that could be quite significant.

I agree RC, cooperation is necessary on a few issues and with the Russians dominating the fake news thing and attempting to manipulate elections worldwide we may need someone different to Trumpy in charge.It's fairly obvious they have some dirt on him.

The fact that Trumpy is trying to aggressively repatriate and control US-owned pharma companies should be of concern too.He really isn't our friend so don't see why so many here should be supporting  him.

Let's hope Biden doesn't expire on the job because a black Female Vice President taking the top job will be a bitter pill to swallow for the Trump fans.

I'm no erm when it comes to shrewd betting coups but I won't be staking any of Mrs. Catcher's hard earned on Biden seeing another election!

In fact I only yesterday suggested to the erm that Obama's daughter could be a good bet for the first female President and he quickly pointed out the probability of Kamala inheriting the office within 4 or 8 years. It'd a long term wager anyway, I guess.

Occi what he done wrong was he is a Snake Oil Salesman like every other Politician .He OVERSOLD what he was offering .Bit Like Bernie Shevlin from the Flats .She wore Mini Skirts belly tops no Bra .She could excite a man so much she could hang her handbag on his tool everybody liked her asked her out but unfortunatly she was a Prick teaser and after a while everybody realized it . If Trump somehow fails to hold on to his current job - as is being predicted by most fake news organisations - maybe HRH Queen Elizabeth II could resolve Brexit by giving Gibraltar back to the Spanish and shipping all the monkeys and monarchists to Norn Iron with Trump appointed Governor in Chief. He could build a wall with a - biden/Varadkar negotiated - gate to allow us get the duty free?
