Uber lost $1.1bn in Q3 2020
« on: November 09, 2020, 05:35:34 pm »
Uber is now a food delivery company with a substantial sideline in taxis

The food side of things seems to be doing ok & even made a profit in 10 countries.  But the rideshare side, not so much...

Quote
One thing that hasn’t changed is Uber making losses, about $1.1bn in this quarter. But CFO Nelson Chai offered the caveat-laden comment that “we remain confident in our ability to achieve quarterly Adjusted EBITDA profitability before the end of 2021.” The company has around $6bn of cash jangling around to help it get there.
Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.

At least 20% but as high as 30% in some places. Then factor in the dynamic pricing which raises the fare when it's busy and lowers the fares when it's quiet.

Not good news if they buy freenow so. 1 billion dollars doesnt seem enough though.
