An initiative to bring Christmas presents to 1,500 children in Direct Provision has been organised by Bohemian FC in Dublin, following a fundraising drive that raised €60,000, mainly at the team's Phibsboro base.

Organiser Dan Lambert, who is the Chief Operations Officer with Bohemian FC, says everyone is conscious that while Covid-19 has been hard for everybody, it has been particularly difficult for families in asylum centres.

The initiative is being carried out in conjunction with the Movement for Asylum Seekers in Ireland (MASI) whose coordinator Lucky Khambule said it is important that children in the centres get to enjoy Christmas as much as other children.

Am a supporter of Bohs since I was a nipper, but I must say in recent years they are to be applauded and praised.
They really are an inclusive/progressive group of people,from supporting minorities and backing social issues,to local issues.

I absolutely agree we should be congradulated,in fact I will accept your congratulations on behalf of the organising committee of which I WAS A MEMBER at one stage,but due to more pressing matters I had to drop it.John you never cease to amaze me.no matter how many times I try to explain my logic about national identity,culture,and heritage,not to mention the loss of the sovereignty of our country,you STILL try to give give the impression that I bare ill will towards these people,when all I do is express an opposing view point to yours.I really thought somebody with your intellects would be able to tell the difference,but apperently not

"Was" being the operative word. The management/committee/and everyone behind the Bohs family are for everything you are against, immigration,equality,LGBTQ rights, Repeal, etc ,its a real progressive place now and much lauded.
But do tell us all about "your" heritage, culture,identity and "loss of soverneignty"
