The Perfect Storm--Friday ---but it abated I gather !
« on: December 07, 2020, 08:51:25 pm »
First Friday in Dec --pissing rain and lockdown ends--The Perfect Storm if in Taxi business eh !

Don't work nights but judging by the number of Taxis driving like maniacs at 5 am Sat it must have been a Beano !

I did a few respectable jobs for a three hours avoiding Party Houses and a few drunks on the streets, then full stop --after an hour I went home and watched the Pumas play the Aussies thinking I would get a few shoppers and their like --didn't happen !
Pints in afternoon watching the Dubs ,left as pub started to get busy and early start Sunday !

Loads of cars about early but mostly empty and they disappeared early with the freezing fog so full stop 9am with cars parked up everywhere Drivers asleep by the looks of it--no shoppers by 11am so retired again !
Pub for Mayo match, not busy and nearly empty when I left at 6.30,asked the Boss was he busy as expected --yes for Friday ,not a great Sat and pretty crap Sunday--checked out a couple of the local restaurants on way home --virtually empty !

If this is to be replicated next w/e, there will be a lot of desperate Drivers out there doing stupid things and that can only mean trouble in long run between driving like lunatics and trying to stroke the drunks, leading to more shit PR in the New Year when the media have nothing else to cover !

But as we all expect come second week in Jan it will be shutdown again---

One of the most ridiculous rules of the the Lockdown --Choirs were banned in Churches all over but 1000 Punters can go to the Darts over the Christmas !

Even in normal times Xmas never kicked off midweek until c. 15th
Trump has called for help, so I'm on a plane heading for The Strait of Hormuz, talk soon.

Hopping by all accounts. An acquaintance told me she had to wait for 35 minutes for a taxi up above in Dublin on Sat night. Happy days.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.
