Big Dommos youngfella Brendan Jr is only back from the shop with the Herald and the news is out of date ....The European Commission adopted a recommendation on Tuesday calling on the bloc's 27 member states to lift blanket bans on flights and travel from the U.K. in order to "ensure essential travel and avoid supply chain disruptions," while also discouraging non-essential travel.  So Eamo the Turnup has just announced that we are not flying now his buddies in Brussells are saying we should .

In fairness, the Govt is dealing with an unprecedented situation.  They have to choose between shutting the country down completely and ruining the economy.  Or keeping it open and having lots of people die.  Further complicating things is the world is now interconnected and we have our own little Northern Ireland situation.  They've chosen a middle path.  No matter what they choose, there'd still be loopholes and anomalies.

At least this Govt is not behaving like Boris in the UK.  He did a press conference yesterday where a journalist asked him why he kept overpromising and underdelivering.  He responded by telling her not to worry, it'd all be over by Easter.  He probably picked the wrong journalist to lie to.  She was the one who broke the Cummings 'I was testing my eyesite' story!

In the UK, the army has been called in to help out in Wales and we're sending ambulances across the  border into NI.  So, all in all, we're not doing so badly compared to the UK and the rest of Europe.

We're banning UK flights,  but N.I. Are allowing them in and hey presto, thousands of Republic bound passengers arrive via Belfast.

Why are the Brits Panicking over this New Strain ?.Why are every other Government in Europe locking the Brits out ?Statistics say the Original Virus was more deadly in Non White Patients .I wonder if this new strain effects White Anglo Saxons .There just seems to be a huge Knee Jerk reaction. Our Mickie was asked if there was any Evidence that the Royal Covid was in Ireland Yet or was the surge in numbers down to the fucking political ideology to celebrate Christmas considering we didnt Celebrate Ramadan or Duvali .If the thing is as deadly as they say why wait till Thursday to Close the Pubs and Restaurants .If your Gaff was on fire you wouldnt wait till Thursday to ring the Brigade .I dont suppose even Borris could go on BBC and say the old virus was a killer of Foreigners this new one kills us .Some Cunt knows something but is saying nothing we are not being told the truth .

I could never understand how having a meal in a pub offers any more protection against covid then NOT having a meal.

Back to the new Royal Covid Conundrum .Im wrapping presents with Big Dommo and I ask Dommo if he thinks this new Royal Covid is murdering more White people than the old one .He said your probably right look at the Evidence Up top in the land of Ulster Says No and the Border areas there is not much ethnic diversity .You wouldnt find a Nigerian Driving a Black Cab on the Shankill or to many Chinease families living in Divis Flats and the death rate in the Ulster Says No is higher than the more ethnically diverse Free State !

The logic is that if you fill up on food you can't fill up with porter as well and start hugging and kissing people.

It's a numbers game.  The NHS in England (not UK) is a week or two away from collapsing as they run out of ITU beds.  Wales has also cancelled all elective surgery.  Since the new virus spreads so much quicker, you run the risk of running out of beds that much quicker.  The longer you can keep the hospitals open AND vaccinating people, the better odds you have of beating the virus.

If the virus overwhelms the NHS, the elderly start dying, then the doctors and nurses start dropping from the virus and exhaustion, and then you've nobody left to do the vaccinations.

We're playing the same game in Ireland but we're doing it better as our hospitals are still open*.

* In fact, I got a letter last week for an outpatient appointment 2 years after I asked for it.  Appointment is in another 3 months!  Can't get better than that  :P
