On my walkabouts in the Fair City in recent days/weeks , I've noticed a sizeable amount of taxis all in the 5,000 plus.
Whats going on are the "we want your money association still issuing plates?

Maybe they borrowed money to get into the game and the PUP isn't cutting it.

Maybe they're younger men with small children and they have to get out of the house before they kill the screaming child/mother.

Probably needed with the COVID '19 anall. Saloon scum working for Free Now, for example, are only allowed carry up to two passengers.

Port last night only 3 cars on the rank  had a PU Stayed out till 2 AM only got 1 job offer from Free Now went to fastest finger .No street work at all .Talking to a lad works my patch he said the only work is with the Chemical Brothers going shopping .

You'd want to be off your rocker working for Free Now in a saloon car. Once there's more than 2 passengers they make them travel in a converted cargo van.

Not sure but Free Now intends to expand it's mobility solutions to include a number of healthier, environmentally friendlier services e.g. self drive cars and electric scooters which will prove better suited to the new normal in due course and/or as the regulatory framework permits.
