Back of the Pipes .all you needed was a two pint entry fee someone would be buying drink for the bar .Monday Club might have Mitchell Bros ,John gilligan,Danny Kinahan and most of Dublins original Honest decent Criminals The Coach ,The Colonel .One of them drove a Rolls Royce .Late 1970s early 80s .Limelight in Jamses Street if you lose the Pool Match dont lose the fight .Timmons on the Corner of Watling Street .Truck Driver shot dead at the Bar .Probably the First Shooting in a pub since the Civil War but now you could make a list of pubs that have seen shootings .

Broggies .I remember when Broggy wanted to run for the Presidency went to Court to try get a nomination .Then The Brown Derby ,Went there one night with my then Bird and her mate and fella .4 piece Band and Jumping Johnny Peters on stage we were the only people there .That was the Night the big Snow started .

Cabaret Pubs everywhere ,Go out in Ballyfermot .Dickie Rock on in the Hunting Lodge ,Eileen Reid around the Corner in Jackie Regans ,Joe Dolan probably on in the Lower County .Two of the Furies playing Ballads downstairs in Chasers .So pints in Ballyer then last bus into Town to go to the TV Club or National Ballroom or chance the Ierne and bump into your oulfella .6 of you share a taxi home tell the driver not to put the meter on as he was probably a Cosy if he was working Saturday Night s.

Who done the Sunday Holy Hour ?Get the Bus out to Tallaght as that was outside the City Limits and did not need to close for the Holy Hour on Sunday .Go to Bridget Burks ,Molloys Foxes Covet,Jobstown House or if somebody was driving the Embankment .Start portering@ 12.30 till about 7 then load up the car driver two front seat passengers six in the back three sitting on the other threes lap and if somebody was stuck for a lift put him in the boot .and drive back to Ballyer in time to get a seat in the Hunting Lodge .As soon as they done away with the Holy hour a lot of pubs like the Blue Lantern ,Embankment ,Blackchurch Inn lost their appeal .Pub trade is Dying Insurance killing it .You can add Ballyfermot Club,Cherry Orchard Social Club and the Gales to bars that closed .Make a great subject for some University Head to do for a Degree in Sociology .Did drugs lead to the closing of the Pubs or did the Closing of the pubs lead to the explosion in drug use .

I think U2 claim to have played there, us punks would've said otherwise!

Is howl at your sister still open?

Laffin......the building was demolished Tony.....last time i was around that way...pre covid...it was a building site.
Upstairs was Danse Macabre, for the more discerning client. I remember the early 90s, house music banging out everywhere. I was yoked up and about to go in and the door monkey says"Are ya looking for yer Ma?" 8)
