A big hit with the pigeons

A Sparrowhawk blasted this pigeon out of the sky and tore it to bits on the ground.
But only after defending it's quarry from four or five Magpies:

I witnessed the very same thing from my window a few years ago.
the hawk was going 90 for about 15 minutes and then flew away.
I thought the pigeon was dead because it was on it's back and was'nt moving but after a few minutes it came to and flew off.
