Just off the Phone talking to the fella that offered me a job a few months ago to deliver Medicines on a day rate .Asked him about the Vaccine deliveries .He recons the EU are having cold feet about the Astra Zenecha Vaccine they might of rushed its approval .He says look at the Newspapers every Day there is a story about The Astra Vax not working or not working for certain people .He recons countries will soon refuse to accept or use it .You dont read about Pfiser or Moderna Vaxines not working .

Probably explains the row between the EU and the Company probably looking to say they broke the contract and the EU want their coin back .

So you refused work John?

Few weeks ago I was offered a gig delivering Meds to Donegal on day rate no matter how long it took .At the time there was no deal to allow stuff through the North without Customs clearance and when I asked I was told that would be my problem I could Go through Sligo .I wouldnt commit to a job I didnt know how long it was going to take .Sitting at customs or going through Sligo for 90 a day self employed no holiday pay .You pay your own tax and Prsi .

"....But how are old people without cars or family going to get to their doctor or inoculation center .A taxi is an ideal vehicle ..."

FreeNow have a promotion about that.

Stay healthy – Coronavirus (COVID-19) precautions
The health and safety of our passengers and drivers is our top priority. We’re monitoring the situation closely and will do everything we can to keep our community safe.

Offering €250,000 in trips across Ireland
Some of the most vulnerable people in our society are next in line to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. As part of this rollout, we are offering our support to help those travelling to their appointment get there safely.

How it works
We will be reimbursing all FREE NOW passengers up to €20 over two trips (max €10 per trip) when they book to travel to or from an official vaccination centre. You're still required to wear a mask and take all necessary safety precautions to keep yourself and your driver as safe as possible.

Here's how in 3 steps

Order and pay for your trip by credit or debit card via the FREE NOW app
Set a destination ensuring your pick-up or drop-off is an official vaccination centre
Go to Help Centre and select Vaccination trip reimbursement from the dropdown menu and submit to our customer care team
Here's what you need

You will need to attach screenshots/photographs of the following to your Help Centre request:

Email receipt of FREE NOW journey, this is sent via email to the account holder
Confirmation of vaccination appointment; a copy of your invitation letter, an appointment confirmation, your immunisation record, or any other official medical document showing your vaccination status that corresponds to your taxi trip date
You can submit receipts for a maximum of two trips up to a total value of €20 (max €10 per trip)
In order to qualify for reimbursement you must submit your claim within 14 days of getting your vaccine

What's next?

Once your Vaccination reimbursement request has been submitted you’ll receive a follow-up email from our customer care
Approved requests, once processed can take up to 5-10 working days for your bank to make those funds available to you
Submit Request
CONTACT CUSTOMER SUPPORT

If you're not next on the vaccination list you can still help others get this offer. Whether it's your family members, friends or neighbours you can book on behalf of those that need it and help them get their vaccination.

Surprised they haven't offered to do the injections themselves....they've been quite good up to now at inserting it in to taxi drivers.

The point is moot. Ermy working 6 days a week at €90 a day is as implausible as Ermy working at all.

NO .But a lot of those companies are now offering Day Rate take it or leave it their van .Thing is you arrive at 7AM to pick up the van already loaded you just drive but as your on Day rate they dont give a fuck you can wait till contractors are loaded .Lucky if you get away before 10 AM .I did work for they a few years ago .Their idea of a days work Pick up van in Rathcool .Drop in Mullingar then up to Sligo to pick up a load over to the Prison in Roscommon then Roscommon Hospital then Tullamore on the way back and there might be a few chemists thrown in on the way .

Would you not get your own van and hack? They're probably the only drivers making a quid at the moment.
