A gang of callous thieves stormed the home of an elderly man in his 90s, knocking him to the ground and then robbing him in north Dublin.
The shocking robbery took place in Clontarf on Monday evening at around 8pm.
The sneaky sneaky robbers gained entry to the man's house by having one of the gang members knock on the man's window so he thought it was a neighbour.
When the victim, who it is understood lives alone, answered the door, two other masked raiders pushed him to the ground before running into the house and stealing a sum of money.
Luckily, the man wasn't injured but was said to be extremely shaken following the frightening encounter.
It's understood a similar incident took place in nearby Donnycarney in recent weeks and concerned members of the community have taken to local Facebook groups to encourage residents to keep an eye out for their elderly neighbours.
A garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live investigations into the Clontarf robbery are ongoing.
She said: "Two men pushed in the door when the man of the house answered the door.
"The injured party (early 90’s) was knocked to the floor and a small sum of cash taken."
