A woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a serious assault in Dublin's city centre at the weekend.
The incident place on Dame Street n the early hours of Sunday morning.
The woman, 30s, remains in hospital after the terrifying ordeal.
Gardai have appealed to the public for any information they may have following the assault, especially those in the area between 4am and 5am, and any drivers who may have dashcam footage of the area from that time.
The full Garda statement read: "Gardaí at Pearse Street Garda Station investigating the serious assault of a female that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 25th April, 2021, in the Dublin 2 area, are appealing to the public for information.
"The assault occurred on Dame Street, Dublin 2, between 4am and 5am on Sunday, 25th April, 2021.
"The female, aged in her 30s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. She remains in hospital being treated for her injuries.
"Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this assault to come forward and to any persons who may have been in the Dame Street area between 4am and 5am to contact Gardaí.
"Gardaí are also appealing for any road users who were travelling in the area at these times who have camera footage to make this footage available to Gardaí.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Pearse Street Garda Station on 01 666 9000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
