Merrion Row consultation
« on: April 28, 2021, 11:57:22 am »
DCC have put out a consultation with regards to making Merrion Row pedestrianised .

IMO this will have a huge impact on drivers wishing to ply for hire and to get around the city.

If you wish to fill out the form, the link is below

Sure why not agree and soon we will have one road in and one road out we can drive on,the rest for those heavily taxed cyclists to have to themselves.

How will the routes change, 2 way on SSGE, Hume ST, and Ely?
Trump has called for help, so I'm on a plane heading for The Strait of Hormuz, talk soon.

Why would the green need to be 2 way?

Access to Hume St via the bus contra flow? I don't know what the proposals are beyond pedestrianisation of Merrion Row.

Well we can't use the contraflow on the Green from the Merrion Row junction so i can forsee other changes.

Excellent idea. There must be 4 or 5 bars/restaurants that could reopen sooner rather than later with adequate outdoor accommodation.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

I made my submission identifying myself as a "taxi driver operating up above in Dublin". I commented "excellent idea" on the proposal and answered "No" in every other comment box, selecting the in favour of proposal option at the end.

It only takes a minute or two so I would urge everyone to click the link and help get Dublin eating and drinking outdoors as soon as, and as much as, possible.

We used to deride those who ate outdoors and drank in fields and also lived in mobile housing. Who's laughing now? 8)

All the pubs that are currently open are supposed to be takeaway only... yet you don't see m(any) walking the streets with pints in the hands.

Pints are covered with paper coffee cups. At least down the Concorde they are, allegedly.

Why? The same rules apply to coffee as pints.
