the working class can kiss my hole

What the fuck is going on .A working man cannot buy a House now he cant afford a Can of beer .Thinking about the Price increase it really only effects the stay at home drinker who cannot afford to go to the pub .If you have coin you can afford an affordable gaff @450K or a pint @about 6 Euro or while you can afford to sit outside in the cold and gargle and Grub taxi drivers and delivery drivers are blocked from their work .Nothing seems to change in this Republic the Pubs were losing customers to the off Licence The Big Brands Guinness ,Heineken.Carlsberg ,Bulmers were loosing market share to no name Gargle so the Government help them out by blocking streets and increasing prices .Looking at the Hartlepool Election in Britain the British working class are finished Xmining towns voting Conservative .The attack on ordinary working class seems to be the new normal .Fucking Shamefull what is going on ,while people were focused on Covid .Gaffs were bought up by Corporate landlords .Gargle jumped up in price streets blocked by councils and bike lanes ,freedom to travel curtailed by restrictions or Vaccine Passports .

I wonder if the Government price young people out of the Pubs will they encourage them towards drug use  .Do they not see the harm of kids with no hope of owning a Gaff not socialising in the Pub sitting in their boxroom smoking Skunk and their only friends are in cyberspace .

Coalition TDs have been sent fresh briefing material on Minimum Unit Pricing – this time with realistic figures.

It comes after the Irish Independent revealed that official cost projections relied on an unusually small can of low-strength beer.

As far back as 2015, former health minister Simon Harris had told the Oireachtas that Minimum Unit Pricing (MUP) would mean a can of beer being sold at a minimum €1.32.

The same claim has been advanced in the current renewed effort to achieve minimum prices, now due to become law in January 2022.

But this was for a 440ml can, whereas the standard unit in Ireland is 500ml. And the official example reflected an alcohol content of just 4pc – considerably below leading market brands.

Now TDs and senators from Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Greens have been issued new advice, this time showing a standard can at 500ml volume.

The price illustration also uses the alcohol by volume (ABV) rating of draught Guinness, 4.2pc. It shows that each can would cost a minimum €1.66 after the introduction of MUP.

Standard-can volumes of 500ml are also offered for cider, with an ABV of 4.5pc, which would have a new minimum price of €1.78 after MUP.

×
A can of lager at 4.3pc ABV would sell for €1.70. Some lagers, particularly craft varieties, have ABVs up to 7.5pc, however, while Guinness Extra Stout is at 5.6pc.

Absurd proposal of minimum pricing will only be of benefit to alcohol companies
State illustrations for a bottle of spirits have also adjusted upwards. After claims of a new price of €20.71, politicians are told that this will apply only to vodka – while whiskey and gin both climb to €22.09.

With Tánaiste Leo Varadkar admitting bottles of spirits in Northern Ireland can be had for €13, the price difference here amounts to more than €9 per bottle, or a cost in the Republic of almost 70pc more.

There was a row at the Fianna Fáil parliamentary party meeting over the introduction of MUP, after the Government decided to press ahead without Northern
Ireland authorities acting in concert.

The Stormont administration has said it cannot meet the measure until 2023 at the earliest.

Sligo-Leitrim TD Marc MacSharry said the measure was being “shoved down our throats”, and the Taoiseach took issue with him.

But Mr MacSharry said to press ahead without Northern Ireland making similar moves was “madness” and, in the immediate post-Brexit/Covid period, was particularly “crazy”. He said he was concerned about the survival of the retail community in the five Border counties of the Republic, and there would be a price differential of up to 30pc on alcohol products.

Mr MacSharry, who claims the support of colleagues, said he fully supported MUP but the need for proper timing was crucial.

A claim that the new structure will result in a fall of nearly 10pc in alcohol-related deaths each year has also been quietly dropped.

A drinks industry source said: “The Government figures are at least now accurate in relation to the cost.

“Interesting they are now omitting the deaths reduction point.”

The Irish Independent has seen a report that looked into the introduction of MUP in Scotland over the last two years.

It found no support for a belief that it saved lives in the short term, and estimated that a reduction in morbidity and mortality might only be seen 10 years after its introduction.

Cuckoo funds are spending €53m a week on average to buy up housing estates, mostly in Dublin but increasingly pushing into the commuter belt.

Restricting funds from buying would boost the available supply to ordinary buyers by 50pc at a stroke of a pen, according to Lorcan Sirr, a lecturer in the School of Real Estate and Construction Economics at the Technology University, Dublin

Erm they can ban investment funds but the builders and estate agents will make sure they squeeze as much money as possible for every development.

Back in 03 I put a deposit on a gaff as soon as they were released off the plans.Told my boss I was off for a bit then raced to the bank on my bike then to Donnybrook to the estate agent, picked a plot and handed over the cash. That was about 10am.By the time the other half went out to see the map in the afternoon they'd put the price up by 35k due to demand. So my neighbours a few doors down ended up paying more because they couldn't get off work early enough. The gaff wasn't even well built.

I'm fairly sure some landlords bought multiple properties off the plans early on because they had mates in the estate agents.Nothing has changed in 20 years. But the outrage continues like it's something new.

They wont or cant ban Investment funds its Free Trade cant stop other Europeans buying .I was talking years ago to one of the teachers when our kid studied Auctioneering and he said the Government will never build social housing again and his reasoning was Build it and they will come as in If the Irish Government was to build thousands of Social housing units then anybody anywhere in the EU could go on the Housing list as they have the right to reside in any EU country they like .I suppose by letting private landlords operate the system it stops Housing Immigration People will travel for jobs so they will travel for cheap housing as well.

Lad came yesterday to fix the Telly he is from Athy he was saying that some local developer is looking to build 200 houses an is going into partnership with one of these funds to finance it .He says the gaffs will be rented so locals wont be able to afford the rents they will be commuter belt travellers by train to Dublin but he said locals were happy as 200 new families would keep shops pubs and schools open .Its a poison chalice but the system seems to be broken .I priced my Gaff @ 170K for the household charge when it came out ,last gaff on our road that sold had an asking price of 220K went for 280K  seems like nothing was learned from the Celtic Tiger .Its looking like same old same old .Think the China Cough has shielded people from the realities of whats really going on .Look at the sums of money and mountains of Drugs being siezed .We are getting more and more like America the haves and the have nots .Most yanks in major cities rent   Are we just becoming Globalised might even see a law change allowing the Caravan Parks in Coretown and Kilmuckerage stay open all year round and we get our own trailer Towns .Im watching the UK Council Results Labour getting hammered are the Brits getting fed up with the welfare state and are we heading in that direction .We have the highest home ownership in Europe I wonder do Homeowners who see their property value shooting up reall give a fuck who builds or owns new gaffs ?

They weren't that cheap Octy but the lending limits were much more relaxed. All the newer gaffs available for sale today are A rated and relatively big compared to what we would have grown up in.Putting new energy-efficient stuff in is pricey.I had three toilets in my last gaff and only one jax roll...

The investment funds are only buying the posh estates. You can still buy a nice gaff in Cabra or Crumlin for less than 300 and maybe one that needs work for 250.That's about what they were going for in 2003.The expectations of the youngsters have gone up.I've never seen so many Audis and Beemers and GTIs being driven by youngsters with normal jobs.No wonder they can't afford to save. That's an executive motor not really meant to be driven by the scum like us.

Kate O Connell just announced she wont be wanted to run for FG in the By election and Mick from Cork has just kicked Jim O Callaghen real hard in the bollox by making him director of elections in the constituency .If he dosent get somebody elected that will fuck up his chances of becoming FF leader and if he gets somebody elected he will have to try unseat them in the next election .Its a fucking dirty Sport more to do with Personalities than electing somebody to look after the people .Collected me coin on the Hartlipool election in Britain .Think Donaldson wins in the North .Looks like Mick and Leo and the sleeper are fighting their own members to try stay in power .Leo hates O Connell as she supported Covney and gave a statement to the Gards about Leo the Traitor ,Mick from Cork knows O Callaghan wants his job .Ryan dosent want CHU in his constituency and we are supposed to believe that these cunts are running the country for our benifit .Like Occi says we probably need a fella in uniform with Alsations .

We might be kissing sore arse ..Who saw this coming ...Pharmaceutical company Teva is to close it Sudocrem manufacturing plant in Baldoyle in Dublin, with the loss of 110 jobs.

Production is to move to Bulgaria, with the Dublin factory expected to begin winding down operations in the third quarter of next year.

The move is scheduled to be completed by January of 2023.

"Yesterday we met with employees at our Baldoyle plant to inform them of the proposed closure of the site, as part of a wider programme to optimise our global manufacturing network," Teva said in a statement.

They could have employed prisoners from Mountjoy and Wheatfield to run the place. Cheaper than moving to Bulgaria. Plus, the prisoners would have no use for the product they're making! 8)

In fairness Justin.....it's easy to throw out a statement like that but there isn't any real alternatives and FFG know that....whoever thought we'd have a FFG coalition with the Greens on the flank...the Greens would jump on any chance they get to impose carbon taxes and bicycle lanes on the citizens cos that's all they've got to offer.....politicians have no real vision,it's all short term cos they want to be around to accept the plaudits, they don't want to be responsible for housing projects that they probably won't be around for the cutting of the red tape and the accompanying photo shoot...in fact i don't honestly think any govt want to be responsible for housing.....the 50' and 60's have sailed!!
