Scary stuff.  The taxi was booked 'online', presumably FreeNow?  I used to think I'd be safer with FN jobs because at least they could track the person who booked the taxi via their phone.

Teen 'full up on cocaine and benzos' hijacked taxi driver at knifepoint, court hears

2 teenagers booked a taxi online in Finglas and drove into town, around Dawson St.  The taxi had CCTV but the 16y.o. pulled a knife and demanded money etc.  The driver bailed while the taxi was still moving.  The kids went on a joyride but were spotted and chased by the police.  Eventually they crashed the taxi and wrote it off.

The defence solicitor pleaded the usual.  How he kept a straight face when he "submitted that the boy is now “completely different from the young person full up on benzodiazepine and cocaine who took the car”.  16 fukking years old!  But the Children's Court judge wasn't having any of it and kicked the case upto the Circuit Court.
Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.

Presumably since they booked it online, their details would be known ?

Immigrants?

You are safer with Free Now or Uber Watty, no doubt about that. I've only ever had one runner from Free Now and none from Uber and no more serious inciidents. These days there's inherently a far higher concentration of scum among street hails. TBH, working the northside suburbs of Dublin, I wouldn't stop on the street for at least 82% of my Free Now clients.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

From the State of course. The same State that will give the first tramp that he gets up the duff her brand new home, he might have to keep his Ma's address and seemingly live with his Ma fer a few years till he marries the tramp and then he is Quids in, have as many sprogs as ya want, the State will pay fer them all.
