When time permits I am suggesting we move on to more cheery subjects like,

Taxi unions- absolute muppets or a necessary feature.  There is the first mistake Self employed would have a trade Organisation not a Union .

Drivers- the different personality types and why this matters  .Sociology ?You can do the job or you cant .

SPSV Driving - benefits and pitfalls .Very few on both sides .

App v traditional dispatch- Can both exist?  YES .

Pedestrian friendly City centres- the new normal.YES its a done deal the time to react was ten years ago and the way to do it was get on Dublin City Council Transport committee .This was hijacked by the one and only Green Councillor Mr Cuff .He could of been stopped .

“She’s electric” - Its coming our way but does it work.  NOT at the moment but it will .TFI know this so wont push it on us yet .
AOB.

High Bar the battle is lost ,to many vested interests and to many clowns with limited intelligence masquerading as Leaders .
No mention of the criminals or money laundering. Sure this is Ireland, wouldn't happen here.

High bar with one post
Very odd
Inside information like that I suspect u worked in the nrc office in fact I think I know who u are by the language in post

See the lads that owned nrc lost interest due to having lots of money so decided to retire  and live in kimmage in bliss
Didn't want to sell to ebbs though
I see James st base up for sale now but little interest in it
Lots of nrc staff lost jobs when base moved

But who defeted the nrc xpert companies and forced a merger?
The European app of mytaxi or hailo or freenow
The ever changing name with same mount st office
The brannigans don't care they at home loaded
The plebs like me and rest on here still working while Liam is in kimmage counting the euros

There is alot of unrented cars in calmount though

Rather than try work out who we all are perhaps we should focus on the important items. Some of which will no doubt lead to other avenues of discussion.
At its most basic its a shame to see the working SPSV driver getting rolled over by a mixture of ineptitude and lack of a business sense.
Ineptitude for a number of reasons. Firstly joe public was crying out for a taxi home, to the office or to grannys for sunday dinner. The need was there but the dispatch operators fought each other,  robbed their drivers blind and gave customers the two fingers at every opportunity.

Drivers were, and still are by the Herr-Taxi app, treated like serfs. Overcharged, ignored and distance managed like mushrooms on the basis that there is a never ending pool of idiots following behind ready to fill the ranks. When you get a trip to a provincial town on account for €120 and the client lets slip he is paying the dispatch company €280 then you both know you are being well and truly bent over.

Rather than work with their (self employed) drivers and take a share of the pie, dispatch operators wanted the pie, peas and gravy and spuds and charged you for the dinner.

The boys behind the original Hailo were pushing an open door when they got the ferry over from the mainland. The paying public had a pain in their hoop from taxis not showing up, being late etc etc. The drivers likewise had had enough of dispatch operators and Hailo pay to play was simply too good to pass up. Why not try app work.

The dispatch operator management ignored why the Hailo app was popular with the public and carried on with business as usual. Heads buried in the sand and snouts in the dwindling trough.
The drivers enjoyed their new money making app and ignored the likely % commission increases in future. This is actually understandable as most of us are simply focussed on this months mortgage and not five years ahead. The public appreciated that taxis turned up and you could pay by card.

These events forced the traveller wedding took place between NRC and Expert. My guess is it was purely for selfish reasons on the part of the owners. Retirement, salary, ego, each person had their own reasons but little to do with the actual effective running of a business.  That in itself is a pity because there was  the basis of a good business if properly managed. I once heard the description that they were “failed taxi men pretending to be businessmen” which would be funny if not for the collateral damage. Unfortunately the staff as usual end up at the receiving end of the failure.
Interestingly while the NRC groom appear to have lined their nests nicely, the sausage man is rumoured to be working front desk in a direct provision b&b in Lucan. Still ordering taxis like the commander in chief of a failed state.

When time permits I am suggesting we move on to more cheery subjects like,

To be honest nobody on here cares if the merger fails
Both companies run by dicks who inflicted misery of uniforms and discounts on us
I heard one of them being described as a CEO
lol talk about big ego a CEO of a taxi company on the radio
Lots of mergers don't work for example nissan and Renault are at each other throats

As for aob
We need a driver based app and all the others to be switched off by drivers

A big ask but could work
