I just spoke with my neighbour John....he's not aware of any automatic failure for having a screen installed,he did say that the seats should be able to move back and forth although he says he never moves anyones seats...unless it's a womans car where the seat is generally on top of the steering wheel, the E mark on the screens were meant to be implemented in early May but has been postponed until further notice.

I know they're charging €150 for late renewals(was €500),so if you let your licence lapse that charge will apply, not too sure about straight renewals.

Was in Fonthill this morning and lad in a taxi was failed for having a screen .He removed it and called the examiner out to confirm it was gone and got the cert .Driver said he was told it was an obstruction ,didnt say obstructing what ,like you say can you move the seats ?Just if you are going for the NCT it might be best to remove it I did and it wont be fitted for suitability either .

I found in my Octavia that you can't pull the rear door handles fully back to open the back doors.  The doors still open with a half-pull (if you know what I mean).  That might be a problem for suitability and as well as NCT?

I take my screen out for both NCT and suitability.  No point in complicating things  O:-)
Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.
