I reckon SF has skin in the game hence the interest in putting a spokesperson forward.

Saw a video of some of the speakers at the protest.

Richard Boyd Barrett was his usual self, hes good and says it like it is.
Shinner fella was there because, why not,we'll jimp on the bandwagon.(I had numerous interactions with the Shinners over the years and it was a case of "we're in your side and we'll get back to ya",Im still waiting!)
Then we had Mary Fitzpatrick(Fianna Fail) speak gibberish,Have no clue why she was there. Shes obviously still looking for that elusive TD seat, so why not "back the taxi drivers".
Then we had Paul McAuliffe TD (Fianna Fail) calling on "the Government to help the taxi drivers out" .

Forgetting of course that his party is IN Government.

All the plebs at the protest allowed him and ya wan to speak and not challenge them.
The same Fianna Fail party who brought in deregulation all those years ago..
Some people have short memories.

From the faces I saw at the protest, a large proportion were airport drivers. Also with tenuous links to SF etc.
Strangely, if you were to listen to a lot of them they're making a fortune.

I remember wacker telling anyone who'd listen:

6 jobs

"Swords, €7.60 on the meter, yer man threw me a score for not complaining"

"Applewood, €13.40, another score."

Back up to the ramp...

"Northwood, €8.00, threw me a score and would I drop him to Powerscourt,/Enniskerry in the morning.

"Woodlawn next €17.00, got the score.

Got a street hail from Santry to Cargo, threw me a tenner.

Straight up to T1

Cherrywood says yer man, and would you mind taking the M50?

Yer man hands me two fifties and says can ya write me a receipt for a ton?

No bodger says I!

Rentamouth asks wacker "How long are ya out?

The guts of two hours says wacker!! rofl

And that's why I don't listen to rankwank. 8)
