Conor McGregor's fiancée Dee Devlin has reacted to the MMA star’s sneak preview of his new bar that is about to open in his native Crumlin with one word..."Wow."
Dee, the mother of McGregor’s three children was obviously impressed by the behind-the-scenes look inside the Black Forge Inn that McGregor spent millions on transforming into a stylish modern bar with luxury interior design, fancy mixed drinks and mouth-watering food.
In the Instagram post, McGregor said: "Introducing Dublin, Ireland’s finest public house, The Black Forge Inn".
His sister Erin posted on her Instagram story: "I lived facing this pub for 10 years. The place looks unreal. Like so nice."
His niece Taylor added: "Buzzing. Table booked and all."
McGregor purchased the old Dublin boozer for an estimated €2million last year and is understood to have spent a further €1million on getting it up to standard ahead of its opening in less than a month.
The renovated bar that is located in Crumlin in the middle of McGregor’s Dublin 12 neighbourhood has promised eager punters a “world class experience” when it finally opens its doors on July 5.
In one tweet, the pub posted a picture of a bartender serving drinks with the caption: “World Class Cocktails, In A World Class Venue, Using World Class Spirits - The Black Forge - A World Class Experience Coming Soon 05.07.21.”
It was retweeted by McGregor himself who earlier tweeted “Premium Irish Beef, Organic Irish Butter, Proper Irish Whiskey at The Number One Irish Pub! Follow @blackforgeinn journey to opening.”
In February we revealed how the €1.9m paid out by McGregor was close to the €2m estimate industry sources originally told Sunday World the UFC fighter paid for the Black Forge.
The figure was declared in auctioneer Lisney/Morrissey’s Licensed Premises report for 2020, which discloses that 13 pubs sold in Dublin last year for a total of over €41m compared to 16 transactions totalling €57m in 2019.
The report says the €1.9m paid by McGregor for the Black Forge may be “slightly out of tone with pricing in the Drimnagh/Crumlin area” but reflected “the property’s worth to the individual purchaser as due to their fame and connection to the area will expect to achieve trading levels in excess of general licensed premises”.
McGregor still pays occasional visits to the Black Forge, which is still not open to the public.
He got a plug in for his ‘Proper 12’ brand of whiskey on signage at the pub, with references to it made on several parts of the premises.

And there is a section called the ‘Bentley Room’, which is for private functions such as 21st birthdays, christenings and communions – the Bentley was the previous name of the pub and McGregor also drives a Bentley among his fleet of flash cars.
Conor's roots are in Crumlin, where he joined the local boxing club before moving as a teenager with his family to Lucan.
But he kept close ties to the Black Forge Inn and regularly visited it down through the years, even lately sponsoring their football club.
The 32-year-old owner is currently training for a return to the Octagon and is with long-time coach John Kavanagh in California preparing for the Las Vegas showdown with rival Dustin Poirier.
McGregor is seeking to avenge his January KO loss to the American, and with the winner reportedly set for a lightweight title bout against Charles Oliveira, the stakes are high in the July 10 trilogy fight.
