Girlfriend's heartbreaking tribute as three young Tallaght pals killed driving wrong way named locally
Members of the mob have regularly driven on the wrong side of roads as they fled officers with the knowledge they would not be pursued

The three young men who were killed in a car that was travelling up the N7 the wrong way have been named locally.

Dean Maguire, Graham Taylor and Karl Freeman, a group of friends from Tallaght involved in a burglary gang, were occupants of the vehicle that was travelling up the carriageway at Citywest in the opposite direction that smashed into a lorry before bursting into flames.

The car which the three pals were in had come to the attention of Gardai earlier in the night with the Garda Ombudsman launching an investigation into the crash - but Gardai have said that the car was not being followed at the time of the collision.

The driver of the lorry, a man in his 40s, was also seriously injured during the collision and is recovering from his injuries in Tallaght Hospital.

Dean Maguire, Karl Freeman and Graham Taylor

The video, which has been circulated heavily online, shows two garda cars rushing to the scene with the garda helicopter also in the sky

Karl Freeman’s girlfriend confirmed the news in a social media post last night.

She said: “I can’t believe I’m even writing this with the heaviest heart please just someone slap me this is all a nightmare there is no such thing as god.

“Look at u happy u were too good for this stupid s****y world I’ll see you on the other side.

“You were so loved by everyone you have me lost I honestly can’t believe this my Karl I love you to peace please please please watch over me my love I’ll never forget you I promise I love you so so much.

“My best friend and partner I can’t get my head around this.”

The bodies of Taylor, Freeman and Maguire were so badly burnt a formal identification might not be made for some days.

The three men, who had more than 200 convictions between them, were associates of a major burglary gang based in their local area of Tallaght.

Members of the mob have regularly driven on the wrong side of roads as they fled officers with the knowledge they would not be pursued.

A flowing tribute to Graham, Karl and Dean from 'Pepper and all the Fettercairn boys' issued to Dublin Live said that the whole of Tallaght is shattered.

They said: "Rest in peace boys, tragic news to wake up to. You left so many hearts broken.

"You were gas dudes and may you all get the best bed in heaven. Fly high boys and watch over us."

Another pal of Dean told Dublin Live: "He didn't have social media. He was a married man with children that kept to himself, but everybody knew Dean, he was such a character."

A close friend of Karl said that he was "such a nice person and a really talented boxer".

Just ask the 65-year-old woman and her husband he beat up.

He told Dublin Live: "He was really strong. The young man didn’t deserve to go now but god takes you when it's your time. it’s heartbreaking to be honest, I said a prayer this morning soon as I heard it, so sad."

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N7 at Rathcoole in Dublin, 8th July 2021.

"Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact them. In particular, any witnesses who may have seen a dark blue BMW 3 Series vehicle (06-D-47768) in the areas of Belgard, Citywest or the N7 between 11.15pm – 12.00am are asked to come forward. Gardaí can be contacted at Clondalkin Garda station on 01 6667600 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111."

So Freeman was actually a free man despite being given seven years in 2015.....he was obviously a good boy!!

I'm sure there would be a queue of his victims who would willingly slap his burds face!!
