We have to hand it to them, they do a great job in supporting anyone trying to give up the cigarettes. Mrs. Bullet and I are now off the smokes for over a year.

It's only when you see the numbers does reality hit:

€16.5K is more than some drivers earn, and we were setting fire to it.

SWMBO is using an occasional vape, but I cut out all forms of smoking.

Fair play to you.  Is that a quit smoking app you have there? Wouldn't mind stopping myself.

Horse,

I just had a fagairy [see what I did there?] one day and clicked onto the site. I picked a date out of the blue on the sign-up form and went on to tell Mrs. Bullet what I was contemplating and we agreed a month in advance or 08/08/2020.

The HSE stays with you all the way through the first year, contacting you daily. I bought the lozenges and inhalers etc, but I hated them. I chose to change my routine/ triggers and after five minutes the urge goes away.

Firstly, hour by hour, then day by day. It was routine more than nicotine withdrawal that was the key for me.

(After meals, after dropping off a punter, etc).

I wish you well on your journey. Read all the literature online before setting a date and getting rid of ashtrays.

There are plenty of support groups online. Here's just one I joined:

https://healthunlocked.com/quitsupport/posts/141833632/quit-smoking-2-days-ago

Strange things will happen like your blood pressure going down. Your morning cough disappearing, and your sense of taste returning.
Oh, and a sudden like for cakes, curries, and spices.

One thing we noticed was our gums hurt. Something to do with the lack of the numbing effects of nicotine.

If you still like a toke, there are plenty of vaping options allegedly. 8)

Just found out an aunt has lung cancer .....I'm off them 6 years this month and it's amazing I havnt got any cough since .....
The money saved is absolutely staggering.......its basically me mortgage .......
In my case I stopped in an instant as a promise to my young  son who got upset at the prospect of his da dying .......
It wasn't easy for 5-6 months and still take the gum .....but if
I can do it  anyone can .....
It really is a dumb waste of health and wealth

I'm fine for the first 3 days then I usually cave in. If I'm having a beer I'll last till im about half way through my 2nd pint then it's out with the smokes and me promising myself I'll do better next time which has yet to pan out.

If you follow the programme and hook up with the support you'll do it. It's not easy doing it on your own.

did you cut down gradually or did you quit cold turkey.
