Are yissers finding the cost of Petrol and Diesel,really hitting the pocket in the last few weeks.Last week I paid 1.36 for Petrol..Now its costing me 1.68….So 100 litres is a extra 52 euro….That’s flunking mad .I’d say you leccy s guys are laughing all the way to the Bank?

It's only gonna be a tenner a week extra for most Prius pilots.Fuel prices would have to double before I'd change over early to electric.

Nearly every day i pass the same petteril stations and it seems to be a cent or two more expensive every day.....also don't forget that electricity prices are on the rise also,some suppliers will be on their third increase this year alone so leccy car drivers are also paying higher fuel prices.

On a similar note....to you leccy car drivers,can you claim for a certain amount of electricity from your household bill as part of your purchases as you would do with your petrol or diesel costs.

I was wondering the same thing.  Maybe it'll be like your mobile phone or broadband connection.  Revenue will assume X% is private use and Y% is taxi-related?  One for the accountants, methinks!

Or like the work from home folks that can claim 30% for broadband,not too sure what percentage can be claimed for leccy and gas but overall it's a miserly amount,
The War Office is working from home since March 2020 but the weekly cost saving on petrol on her thirsty 07 1.4 Focus which is about €70 per week outweighs the hassle of claiming said miserly amount of said household bills.

I would imagine you'd see a biggish jump in your two month normal elec bill for charging your motor on it and you'd be able to separate the extra charge you're incurring which should be tax deductible as your diesel/petrol is?

Don't think there are many free chargers left.They're deliberately expensive so you don't hog them.

It takes 84 kWh to charge at home,at a day/night meter cost of approx €7.
For that 7 euro you get a range of near enough 500 km.
If you bought 4.5 litres of fossil juice with the 7 euro you'd get maybe 60 km.
If you are doing 1000 km a week,the saving is about 90 euro a week.

I think someone said the chrger will tell you how much electricity it used?
