Must give them a ring. I'm with then ATM, they gave me the guts of a deuce to switch the gas and (re)contract a few years back.

I doubt it as I'm already with them but maybe a few notes for recontracting or a small discount if I go the DD route?

Aye, I guess we should all do that. Maybe we could nominate Hal as the Irist Taxi Forum Power CHange GURU and he could tell us all what to do and when to do it?

Can you remember the name of the tariff?

Somebody was telling me Energia are good at the moment.  Haven't looked into it too much yet though.

Try the comparison websites like Bonkers.ie...Input your details and they'll find the cheapest deal. You need your GPRN and your MRPN and some up to date meter readings.Plus bank account details. If your with your provider more than a year chances are you're already overpaying compared to new users.Easy money.

Yeah, I've tried Bonkers.ie but (I think) I want to get a day/night meter and it doesn't seem to offer that option?

On the bonkers site it gives you the option to select Smart Meter and they generally give you the rundown of which suppliers are doing those tariffs....the downside is if you choose a cheaper night tariff you're hit with a more expensive peak time tariff....so you need to be doing your sums, the good thing about the new smart meters is that you can scroll through the differents modes and it'll tell you your consumtion on peak or offpeak so you'll know what you're currently using,
Based on Energias rates and Leccy Irl rates(even with their increase at midnight tonight) i'll save around €600 changing to Leccy Irl,there's no benefit to the consumer to stay with their current supplier when the contract expires and suppliers are now obliged to let you know(by your preferred communication) when your contract is about to expire so it gives you time to do your sums, the good thing about Bonkers is they factor in any cashback,or announced future price increases into their calculations.

Thanks for the tip!

I've got a electric taxi now so probably/maybe need a day/night meter.  Somebody was telling me Energia do a 14c x 24hr rate but I can't see it on their website.  This might suit me best?  Need to do more research.

You should....go on to the Bonkers.ie website and it'll ask you who your current supplier is and what tariff you're currently on with them...and a few other simple questions....and it'll give you a list of energy suppliers and how much you could save based on an average annual consumption of 4200kwh.
