Avian flu has been detected in a rare white tailed sea eagle, the Department of Agriculture has confirmed.

The highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 was discovered in the bird near Tarbert, Co Kerry.

The white tailed sea eagle was submitted to the veterinary laboratory in Limerick as part of the Department's wild bird Avian Influenza (AI) surveillance programme.


The Ecomentalists introduced these birds to Ireland they are not a Natural Species .If this Bird Flu spreads No Turkeys for the Crimbo and only Smoked Cod or Battered Sausages from the chipper .When the Ecomentalists decide to Reintroduce something to the country do they never consider there is a reason the fucking things went extinct in the first place .Wont be long before Eamo or Gretta want us to launch the St Patricks Project to reintroduce Snakes to Ireland .Healy Wray will be spitting feathers in the Dail about Hippies bringing fever into farmyards if farmers have to kill millions of Ducks ,Chickens and Turkeys .Think Eamo was suggesting we bring back the Wolf .

Green Party leader Eamon Ryan has called for wolves to be reintroduced in Ireland almost 250 years after the species became extinct in Ireland.

Mr Ryan said he believed that wolves should have a place in Ireland’s environment and would contribute positively to the ecosystem and the State’s national habitat.

An eagle is a predator, it could have simply eaten a migratory bird.
