Road blockages,Port and Airport

"The Irish Truckers and Haulage Association Against Fuel Prices" are to hold a convoy in and around Dublin on Wednesday 24 starting at 7 am.

They plan to go to Dáil Éireann but have road blockages on motorways, the port tunnel,Dublin Port and airport.
They have asked for other commerical groups to join them including.. ahem ,, taxi drivers!

Blocking up the streets you say ?

We'll wait and see................

Of course they will .Costing them as much as a grand extra per fill .They are looking for Government to reduce fuel duty .Garages raping drivers 10c in the difference between some per liter .Government dont give a fuck how much they charge as they get more VAT the more they charge .Three trucks traveling @ 50K three abreast on the M50 will slow things up or a truck breaking down in the Tunnell or on the Red Bull Roundabout  could cause mayhem ,loads of places where a broken down truck could stop the Luas or Dart .

This is a statement to the press.
This protest is for lower fuel costs at the pump and at home.
This is for the people of Ireland, we are all suffering some more than others.
We want lower costs and lower taxes, rebates are no good.
We want the government to address the nation on this cause.
This is for the people of Ireland, for our future and for our kids.
If we don't get a change a lot of small operators will be out of business sooner than you think.
If we don't get an answer we will be back in bigger numbers for a week before Christmas.
We want a peaceful protest and no trouble, if you plan to cause trouble stay at home.
We will have no spokes people as like the last time they were told to back off. We are the people of Ireland you need to address us as a whole.
See you all tomorrow

The traffic is so shite I doubt anyone will even notice.

Why can't they pass the increases on to their customers anyway?Its not like they have maximum fares in a truck.

Think the problem for a lot of these lads is they have signed fixed price contracts some are paying up to a grand extra to fill their tanks .I was offered a gig delivering medicines between Dublin and Donegal a few months ago the fella who got it recons its costing him about 50/60 a week in extra fuel costs .Thats about 10% of what he was pocketing a week for the gig .Another problem some lads have is cabotage they cant go to the UK then pick up another load to deliver into the EU .Some trucks are leaving the UK empty to travel home or travel on to Europe .Brexit is fucking up their business.

This protest looks FUCKED before it starts .Was out this morning early and about three or four times as many trucks on the road running for the Port or trying to beat any blockade .Bit like when we held taxi protests too many drivers ignoring the protest .Looks like these lads are on to a loser not enough support from the Transport industry .you can be sure no taxi or white van man will join the protest .A bit like the Farmers on Sunday 70 Tractors ?In the 1970s a farmers protest got Jack Lynch sacked as Taoiseach they use to come to Dublin to protest in their tens of thousands .
