Garda appears in court charged over alleged corruption offences

A garda has appeared in court in Co Meath charged with 110 offences in relation to alleged corruption.

The charges follow an investigation into public service vehicle inspections.

The man was arrested this morning and charged with 47 counts of deception under the theft and fraud offences act, 39 counts of corruption, and 20 money laundering offences.

He was also charged with four separate deception charges and one count of refusing to allow his photograph to be taken.

The garda, who is on suspension, has been remanded to appear again at Trim District Court next February.

This is probably one of those stories where you'd want to be careful what you post!  He's innocent until proven guilty.

Plates were sold , Carriage Officer was convicted on one count of sale to a driver for £6,000. Minister legalised the sale after conviction stating the driver bought in good faith , effectively legalising any other plates that were sold.

And there was the case of a garda and an IRA hood selling SPSV licences in A Flat in Ballymun.

They were all revoked when caught. They all went on the BTWEA and became legitimate licence holders. I don't remember what happened to the cop or the IRA hood.

she handed me back my driving record, my paper license and the purple €250 receipt page.
shudda retained all the gear to be pulped.
