what is the story with the safety screen and the nct.
should you take the fuckin thing out or leave it in.

Different stories doing the rounds on here, best bet if'n your due is to just ask your-man-o in NCT when dropping in the keys.
I have passed many NCT's and Suitability's with a FN screen up, but others on here have said they did not pass ??

AFAIK,NCT fail them without a special mark on them saying they're shatterproof and suitability pass them because it's nothing to do with them.

Worst case scenario DMG is they fail you on the screen, just take it off, put it in the boot and call back in.
It will be a sight test only which should not require any charge.

Think the taxi thingey pay for the test but who pays for a retest Screen would be an easy fail .

We pay for a retest, €30. Happened me last year when they failed me for no parcel shelf in my car. Cnuts.

P.S. I remove the safety screen.  It's not worth the risk and it's easy to put back in afterwards.

Only got the car and didn't notice it was missing. The place I got it purchased one of them net things for me. Now I just put that in the boot on the day and put it in the shed afterwards.

Anyone who got failed for a screen was  failed  cause it was a   home made   piece of shit wit sharp edges  or obviously was a danger to  occupants .....an nct mechanic can refuse anything outside of his robot checklist if  in his professional opinion it is hazardous an no one can or will  argue wit him...

Buy a purposely  manufactured screen an insist the seller/installer  fit it to cover yur arse legally ........sgs or whatever they called now ...or nct ....cannot fail you for it .....if they do ..they must give a reason an must give reason in writing .. you bring  the legal notice  back to seller and get a refund because its " not fit for purpose "
If the seller refuses  to give a refund or replace the screen wit a legally abidin one ya take them to court an you will get your refund and expenses guarenteed ....an the seller will be prevented selling shit ....therby your efforts will most likely
improve standards an may even save lives  .....
