On the plus side it's currently free, gratis and for nothing.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

i knew the nct was free did'nt know the licence renewal was on the arm as well. that's brilliant.
here's my problem.
a few months ago my brakes were in rag order. i can't remember exactly why i could'nt go to my mechanic.
there mira been an outbreak of the cough at his place or something.
long story short i got these bogey russian cunts to change them and they made a bollocks of it.
i've been experiencing intermittent loud squealing from the brakes ever since.
i knew my licence is up at the end of 31 jan 22.
that means 01 feb 22 it's gone.
problem is for the last couple of weeks all of a sudden i've been gettin loadsa brake related fault lights and warning messages.
they'd pop up for an hour and then dissappear for a week.
i had my regular mechanic fit the brakes properly and booked the nct but the warning lights came back and i hadta cancel the nct.
he had anudder crack arrit and the warning lights went away. they came back and i hadta cancel the nct a second time.
the car has to be looked at a third time tomorrow and fuckin stripped down.
the russian cunt is after damaging something.
the next earliest nct i could get is saturday and presume i'll pass.
the soonest possible time i can ring the licence renewal crowd will be monday which happens to be 31 jan 22.
when i go for the new stickers the follyin day or whatever the licence will have lapsed bur since i'll be ringin them on the last day while it's still valid i'll be ok won't i and i won't be on the hook for a 500 pound late renewal.
what do yiz reckon yiz cunts.
i'm in a nawful state here.

Hopefully a phone call to the NTA will ease your mind.
Trump has called for help, so I'm on a plane heading for The Strait of Hormuz, talk soon.

You aint looking too good there DMG, but at least there is the NTA discount fer short late renewals;

Expired Licence Replacement Fees;
Replacement of any category of SPSV licence after expiry date €500
Refund Payable if any category of SPSV is re-licensed less than 10 days after expiry date €250
Refund Payable if any category of SPSV is re-licensed more than 10 and not less than 30 days after expiry date €150

https://www.nationaltransport.ie/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Guide_G2_renewing_vehicle_licence_12.20151.pdf

I reckon that you will be hit with the Monkee late renewal fee but you should get a 250 refund if'n ya get it sorted within 10 days.
To be fair to the NTA they will assist you well to get you a suitability test on short notice once you have an NCT cert, but you might have to travel to get it.

when i ring to book the licence renewal my plate is still active though.
i'm not ringing to reactivate a licence that's been on ice for a few months or whatever.

I dunno about that DMG, your on thin ice there and the odds are not in your favour.
But Best of Luck with it all, at least it's only 250 after the refund.
