that's correct. it'll lose a few minutes every week and you can adjust it by 2 minutes once a week without havin to break the seal but if you let it accumulate like i did the seal will havta be broken and the time brought back in line with a bang.

For years I adjusted the car clock to exactly match the meter clock, worked a dream when I was 5 to 10 minutes out.
When it was out by more than that, one of the mechanics deftly removed the seal and adjusted the clock, replacing the seal without a bother.

fuckin disaster.
went for renewal up in ballyscum earlier and failed because the time on my meter was twenty minutes out of whack.
you're bleedin jokin me. never noticed it.
then i remembered a few year ago the blondie wan over in skan sayin the meters go out of a whack a few minutes every year and ye wanna be wide to it and fiddle it back every once and a while.
i did'nt hear a word she said because i was imaginin myself on top of her with my boney arse goin ninety bouncin up and down.
now i havta get the meter resealed and do a retest but they're all backed up te fuck for a couple of weeks.
i'm havinta after havinta book one in ken country down the bog in athlone for friday.
what is the crack for the licence renewal though. do i havta book a retest and if so how much. can't reference antin online about retests. or do i just show up at northpoint again with the failure sheet and say the meter is grand now stick the bleedin stickers on.
What's the "outa whack" limit? Mine's at -9 mins, LRA on 24/2.

You say that the limit is "20 something" but you werefailed at 20, so what is the out of whack limit to pass?

The clock on the meter can be up to 20 minutes out for LRA.
A few years back my meter installer guy told me it was 11 minutes incrementation allowed fer suitability.

I remember it distinctly because he used the word 'incrementation' and I was sure that he had just made that word up, so I went home and googled it and he was correct.

@ DMG, If your cute about it then maybe you can book your suitabilty test straight after the reseal in what is most likely the same building in Athlone ?

I did it in Cork a few years back as both tests are done in the same premises, I rang suitability first asking what slots they had available and writing them all down without making a booking and then rang the reseal crowd and got a slot 30 minutes before my suitability inspection and did them both at the same time.
There was a thread on here before about it. http://intaxi.org/forum/index.php?topic=9998.0

That was in the old meter sticker days, I don't think you can do that anymore with the new 'hamster wheel' yoke hanging off the meter.

It's still a sticker on my Hale, when I change vehicle or the NTA finally pay us our 4% price increase they'll probably install the new device.
