Anyone else find RTE Player shite when accessed directly on TVs - both Walker and LG, in my experience - riddled with ads and prone to freeze on a spinning widget for minutes on end... yet when cast from an Android phone to the TV it's commercial free and flawless.

Time is money, I guess that's a prize. The fucking thing plays up to 5 ads at a time, some up to 30 secs long, on both Walker and LG TVs before it starts the programme and at between each "part". Casting from Android smart telephones eliminates all the ads.

Poor Travelers always got bad press from RTE .In 1968 The Rerdons and Minnie Brennan and Batty are standing outside the chapel in Leestown when Tom and Mary Reardon and their son Michael appear from the Church and Minnie sees Michael and says "Oh my God Michael Reardon whats wrong with you .I have seen more flesh on a Tinkers Stick " You wouldnt get away with that sort of Racism in todays Gay .Bisexual,Undecided enlightened Woke society .

RTÉ needs investment of ‘several million euro’ to upgrade player in line with other broadcasters

It's grand on Android... if you cast to a TV. If you play it directly on the phone you get the endless ads that you get using it directly on (LG and Walker) TVs.

Amazing what they can spend several million on... we're in the wrong game, no doubt about it! I coulda put the Android COVID '19 anall tracker app together in a 35 hour week single handed!
