Turfwar

Do I understand this right .It will be illegal to sell a bale or Briquettes as they are made from turf .This looks like the sort of issue that could bring down an Irish Government . You can see some Country TDs deciding to pull the plug if they think their voters will turn on them .In what other country when the price of other fuels like Electricity and Gas and carbon duty on all fuels would you ban people from keeping warm by banning Turf .

Greens seem to be just picking at all the low hanging fruit .If they really want to cut emissions then introduce a free Bus service and ban private cars from cities or towns with more than 10K people .Build a Nuclear powerstation we live beside sellerfield if anything happens there people in Galway will be roasted and we get none of the Benifits from it but all the risk .You can see why Matty and the Healy Wray brothers can get elected when the Green are attacking rural life .We do need to do something to protect the environment but telling people they cant burn turf or afford Gas or Electricity of smokeless coal because they have added Carbon tax to the price .Its almost a class thing with the Greens Yuppies living in Dublin City against rural dwellers .

It is a class thing, cos their electorate are well heeled and any increase in gas or leccy prices with added carbon taxes will have little effect on their income....Eamo and his bunch of merry fukwits have a vision of their ideal world of bicycles, leccy cars and lettuce growing in window boxes but put their fingers in their ears when the reality of what's required to achieve these things....like a fukin NG nuclear power station but they think wind, solar and water will provide all the power needed and importing turf from Latvia is the best option.
