DAA let over 1000 people go and if they took redundancy they CANNOT reapply for the job they left for two years .DAA are only offering 20 hour fixed contracts .A young lad from Balbriggan did the interview got the job didnt bother taking it .You are only guaranteed 20 hours a week but must be available at all times to do up to 40 .The big question is why did DAA pay off staff when the Government were paying the staff wages .Anybody think DAA is going to be sold off ?New staff are being employed on a different contract to existing workers same as Go Bus and CIE new drivers have different contracts .Its a race to the bottom for wages to make these companies more profitable for when the EU decide that Semi State bodies must be sold off and the industry opened up to competition .
The DAA work was in the ASU which is now privatised. OCS do a lot of the drone work in the 'port.

The DAA are acting the maggot with the staff wages and if they don't cop on, which they seemingly have not by not promising the Gov that it will not happen again then it's quite likely the same will happen again this weekend or something similar if they take all the baggage handlers and put them in security.
If they are unwilling to pay the staff then the problems will continue.

DAA/ASU was audited on security systems by  EU officials doing test runs. The officials were able to get guns, drugs, explosives, and weaponry through security with ease.

Random profiling one in 20 has now been reduced to one in 5, causing the massive backlogs we see.

Former employees made redundant are not allowed to apply for new - lower-paid - positions for two years.

Body search and cavity searches are very particular skills:
