Anyone see the scenes at Dublin airport today? It reminded me of those Vietnam videos of the fall of Saigon. Absolute chaos and that's only the warm up. Next weekend is the Bank Holiday and numbers will be worse!

Fig: Scenes from Dublin Airport Sunday Morning (maybe)
The DAA is obviously to blame by not having enough staff when they must have known for months how many people would be travelling through the airport each day. It's not like 50,000 people woke up this morning and decided on a whim to flash mob the airport.
But they're also telling people to turn up 3 and 4 hours early. And people are panicking and turning up 4 and 5 hours early and taking up all the physical space inside the airport and they have nowhere to go until their plane departs. Madness!
In the Indo, a DAA spokesman is quoted as:
"We assure we have the safety and security of passengers as a priority, we have pedastrianised the zone outside the airport and have airport police and An Garda Siochana also present to make sure it’s a safe environment to queue. "Taxis are allowed outside the terminal, we have a designated area for all vehicles.”
I saw no concessions for taxis? It was every man for himself! I just dropped people off about 300 metres from the terminal and fukked off. I didn't see I had any other option.
